We Finally Have A Yamaha MT Coming In The Indian Market
Yamaha’s MT series is one of the most popular lines around the world. The peppy engine, the ergonomics and the nimbleness, these factors are some of the top qualities that make MT a fun-to-ride bike. It was about time Yamaha introduced MT in India along with its successful R15 series. And Yamaha is doing exactly the same.
After KTM released the Duke 125, the new market opened up and it seemed Duke would be ruling it until Yamaha decided to challenge the Duke for the throne. Viola, MT-15!
The release date is not yet confirmed but close sources to Yamaha reveal that MT-15 will be available after March 15. The company is planning a launch event at the Buddh International Circuit, followed by media rides.
Some spy pictures of the test bike reveal a relaxed ergos tipping the rideability to an easier city usage. Its naked-bike look will have a lot of teenage and young buyers thronging the Yamaha dealerships. MT-15 will have the same 155cc single-cylinder VVA –equipped engine from the R15 and all the hopes are that Yamaha doesn’t mess with the engine giving 19.3 PS and 15Nm torque.
The impressive thing about the MT-15 for now is that it will come with dual-channel ABS as standard. A reason for buyers to consider this little beaut! The bike will expectedly fall in the Rs 1.2-1.3 lakh price bracket.
