NIssan Kicks: A Serious Creta Competitor
The 2019 Nissan Kicks has officially made its debut in India. With prices starting at Rs 9.55 lakh for the base XL petrol variant and going up to Rs 14.65 lakh for the top XV Premium+ variant. The car is definitely a looker with tons of features. It has automatic LED projector headlamps and fog lamps.
Inside the car, you see a vast spread of leather upholstery all around the cabin giving it a rich premium feel. An 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system is easily readable and has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features. You get auto climate control and cruise control too. Nissan doesn’t miss out of safety either- it gets 4 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, hill start assist and a first-in segment 360-degree camera view.
The Indian version of Kicks will be made on the Duster platform and also shares the same power mill too. While the 1.5-litre petrol produces 104 bhp and 142 Nm of peak torque, the 1.5-litre K9K diesel gives put a 108 bhp and 240 Nm. The petrol powerhouse is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and the diesel brother gets a 6-speed unit. Currently, Nissan is not offering automatic variants.
Nissan Kicks is a handsome looking car that holds a lot of promise. Taking on the current market champion in its segment- Hyundai Creta, only time will tell how it fares.
