Motorola Set To Release Razr Flip Phone. Here's A Look
For us millennials who grew up in a crazy mobile phone era, Motorola Razr raises a familiar, nostalgic bell in our head. And if you are following the tech news closely all this time, you’d be aware that Motorola has been working on bringing back the flagship feature phone. To update you guys further, the phone is set to debut at the end of this year and that too, with its iconic flip design… we see happy faces put there!
Several design leaks have been doing round for a while now and although Motorola released a small teaser video of the phone only, we know quite a lot about the device already. And the biggest thing about the 2019 Razr is the folding OLED display. The new device won’t have the T9 keypad and the small LCD display to make a place for a folding display. But the phone still manages to retain the sleek profile of the original Razr phones.
The Moto Razr will have a 6.3-inch folding OLED display as the main screen when you flip out the phone. The display retains a notch with a bulky chin at the bottom. When flipped out, the screen would work as a normal smartphone. The Razr is suspected to use a similar hinge as the Samsung Galaxy Fold for housing the folding mechanism.
And just like the original, the 2019 Razr will have a smaller secondary display on the outside. This display will act as a notification screen and a viewfinder for taking selfies or attend a video call. This screen is expected to be touch just like the main screen.
There are even specification details available for the upcoming flip phone. These leaked specs suggest the 2019 Razr will get a Snapdragon 710 processor with a 4GB or 6GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage option. The given specifications make Razr a midrange phone with much better devices already available in the market but given Razr’s cult following, Motorola seems to be cashing on it to sell its device.
There are no reports whether Motorola will release the Razr smartphone with the latest Android 10 or stick with Android 9 for the launch. Given Android 10’s support for folding screens and Motorola’s love for stock Android, Razr might get a simple version.
The Motorola Razr is suspected to get a small 2730mAh battery, to be housed in the bulky chin along with the mic. This compromise for a smaller battery must be because of the slim profile of the phone.
While there are numerous Indian fans of the iconic Moto Razr phone that are waiting with hearts in their hands to get the latest model, there is currently no news whether it will come in India. We’ll have to wait for the official launch of the device to get clear news on that. Till then, keep reading Befazool Manoranjan.
