With new technologies coming in and smartphones taking over the world, Razrs went away too soon. But as of now, Motorola has announced that they are bringing back the Razr line- not as flip phones but as foldable smartphones.
The latest news from Wall Street says that Motorola Razr could launch as early as February 2019 with a foldable screen, though the handset is still undergoing testing. There are no details about the specifications of the phone and the phone may be priced at a high price of $1500 in the US market. But Lenovo (daddy of Motorola) aims to capitalize on the popularity and nostalgia of Razr line.
As more and more testing and experimentation is going with foldable screens, Motorola already has a stiff competition coming its way. LG, Samsung, Oppo and Huawei are all gearing up to launch their respective foldable devices soon in the market.
Samsung has said it could reveal its Galaxy F foldable phone along with Galaxy S10 series on February 20. It may be priced at $17000. LG is working on its range of foldable screens and phones too and has already trademarked names like Flex, Foldi and Duplex. Oppo is busy jotting down details about its foldable phone to reveal at MWC 2019 in Barcelona.
Right now the prices may be high but according to analysts, as the technology steps in the market with time, the prices will go down.
