Man vs Wild: PM Modi To Take On Wild With Bear Grylls

After a landslide victory in the 2019 elections to come back for the second term, Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to be turning his “Daredevil” mode on. Clueless? We clear it out for you… Our dear Prime Minister Modi will be seen in a never-seen-or-heard-before avatar when joins the company of expert survivalist Bear Grylls in the popular television show ‘Man vs Wild’ on Discovery Channel.

Discovery Channel released a promotional clip from the upcoming episode of the popular show Man vs Wild on their official Twitter account. The clip was later shared by Bear Grylls himself on his official Twitter account.

On the show, Grylls “tackles extreme challenges and navigates through remote locations around the world, sharing invaluable survival strategies along the way”. In the clip, we can see Grylls and PM Modi meeting and then taking on the wild together. Discovery Channel said the episode which has been shot in India’s Jim Corbett National Park, will be a “frank and freewheeling journey”.

The 45-second clip describes the episode as an “epic adventure of a lifetime”. The clip also showed PM Modi welcoming Grylls to India and holding a rudimentary spear made from bamboo, a knife and other material collected from the jungle floor. When presented with the spear, PM Modi says, “Main aapke liye isko apne paas rakhunga (I will keep this with me for you).”

To this, Grylls laughs and replies, “You are the most important man in India, my job is to keep you alive.” The new episode is a means to promote awareness of animal conservation and environmental changes.

In a statement, the PM said, “For years, I have lived among nature, in the mountains and the forests. These years have a lasting impact on my life. So when I was asked about a special programme focusing on life beyond politics and that too in the midst of nature I was both intrigued and inclined to take part in it.” He further added, “For me, the show presents a great opportunity to showcase to the world India’s rich environmental heritage and stress on the importance of environment conservation and living in harmony with nature. It was a great experience spending time in the jungle once again, this time with Bear, who is blessed with indefatigable energy and quest to experience nature at its purest.”

The short clip gave the hyperactive Indians a chance to rejoice over a new topic for a meme storm.

The clip gave a chance to the Congress party to take a dig at PM Modi for his lack of actions and continue shooting for the episode during the Pulwama attack on February 14 which left 40 CRPF soldiers dead and wounded.

The episode will air on Discovery Channel on August 12 at 9 pm (IST) and across 180 countries. For more latest topics, keep a lookout on Befazool Charcha.
