It’s May 15, 2019, and it’s Madhuri Dixit’s 52nd birthday. The lady made the whole of the country fall for her with her infectious smile and amazing dance moves. There is no way that you looked at Madhuri Dixit songs and never lost track of everything, going “Hayyeee”.
So, on her birthday, we take a look at some of Madhuri’s iconic roles which made us drool over her beauty.
1 Mohini, Tezaab (1988)
The first thing that comes to mind when we talk about Tezaab is Madhuri Dixit’s amazing dance number on ‘Ek do teen’. There is no way that you watched the song and Madhuri dancing and didn’t fall for her. This movie established Madhuri as not only an amazing dancer but also as a talented actor. Some even went ahead to say that Madhuri almost over-shadowed Anil Kapoor in the movie with her superb acting.
2. Nisha, Hum Apke Hein Koun..! (1994)
Madhuri Dixit, Salman Khan, their cute and romantic love-story and Hum Apke Hein Koun, they’ve all been itched in the history of Bollywood as one of the most loved movies by the masses. Madhuri Dixit as Nisha romancing Salman Khan as Prem, it was something that every girl dreamed of being romanced like. Nisha’s naughty, yet charming acts and the song “Didi Tera Dewar Deewana” are something that we still reminisce with a light smile.
3. Madhu, Dil (1990)
Dil was a turning point in Madhuri’s life. Her role as an arrogant rich girl, Madhu won her the first ever Filmfare Best Actress Award of her career. Madhuri and Aamir’ pair was insanely loved by the masses and the movie was the biggest hit of 1990. After Madhuri’ dance on the promotional song Dum Duma Dum was appreciated so much, the makers of the movie had to include the song in the movie later and re-released.
4. Pooja, Dil To Pagal Hai (1997)
In this movie, Madhuri Dixit went head-to-head with another big actress of her time, Karishma Kapoor. This was another movie where, along with Karishma, she stole the limelight away from Shah Rukh Khan. Dil To Pagal Hai fetched Madhuri Dixit the fourth Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Her role as Pooja was much loved and drooled over by the people of India.
5. Chandramukhi, Devdas (2002)
One of the most iconic and spectacular period films made by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Devdas made a special place in the hearts of this country. And Madhuri Dixit as silky and sultry Chandramukhi stole our hearts. The grace and ease she showed to pull of this character were simply epic and we are struggling to find words to even describe it.
