So, another year is in its’ verge to end and just like every year, 2018 turned out to be quite memorable as well. However, the most basic element for it to be just like every year, ‘18 was also filled with one after other Bollywood controversies. Many of them reached courtrooms others were miserably trolled. 
Let's have a look at the 5 most viral controversy of this year that nonchalantly became the ‘talk of the town’. 

1. Super 'Chor' At Sonam Kapoor's Wedding Venue  
If Sonam-Anand grand wedding affair wasn’t enough for people to spice up their life with Kapoor’s all-wedding festivities update then we had something that no one was expecting to happen.

Apparently, Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's big fat Indian wedding was the talk of the year. From their decoration to their outfits, everything was just perfect.

Their grand wedding venue which also happens to be Sonam's aunts' house was robbed on September 20, 2018. According to the reports, a source said, “The family looked through the CCTV footage and figured out that on the night of Sep 20, a robber went up to the bungalows’ fourth floor, climbing with the help of window, when everyone including watchman and family members were fast asleep. Next day it was found that valuables have been stolen which included mobile phones, cash etc. The case was immediately registered at Bandra Police station and investigation is still on.”

2. Tanushree-Nana #MeToo Controversy 

In 2018, India witnessed its own #MeToo movement which created a buzz around the town. The movement was initiated by actress Tanushree Dutta.

She accused veteran actor Nana Patekar for harassing her sexually on the sets of their 2008 film ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’. After her accusations, Nana Patekar stepped down from Housefull 4 and lodged a complaint against the actress.

However, their case is still under process but many actors came forward in support of Tanushree. 

After her case, numerous other actors from the fraternity gathered courage and came out about being harassed. In this storm, many other big names from the Bollywood were accused of sexual misconduct like Sajid Khan, Vikas Behl and Anu Malik as well among others.

3. Akshay Kumar's Movie 'PadMan' Faces Plagiarism Issues

Writer Ripu Daman Jaiswal had accused the makers of movie PadMan of stealing the scenes from a film's script he has written. He also filed FIR against the movie’s lead actor, Akshay Kumar and claimed that after his script was shared with Dharma Productions the scenes from the script got lifted. He said almost 11 scenes from his script have been stolen; however, director R. Balki refused all such claims in an interview.

4. Disha Patani's Diwali picture 

The ‘M.S.Dhoni: An untold story’ fame actress, Disha Patani made headlines for posting a bold picture of herself on the occasion of Diwali. In the picture, she was seen holding a diya and wearing a gorgeous designer lehenga but had replaced blouse with a sports bra.

The actor, who is quite active on the social media, got trolled miserably for this photoshoot which was actually a part of a renowned magazine's cover story. Due to such negative response on her photo shoot and people making a big deal out of her one picture, actress disabled the comments on her post.

5. Sidharth Malhotra slammed for his comments on the Bhojpuri language 
During a film promotion, ‘Aiyaari’ on a famous reality TV show, Sidharth was asked to repeat a few dialogues from the Bhojpuri films. Regional actress, Neetu Chandra got really offended due to the same and expressed her disappointment on her social media handle to express her feelings about the same.

Neetu wrote, "So disappointed. Sidharth Malhotra, someone who is so fortunate to work with best, who despite being an outsider has made a name for himself, for you to use your words so loosely to disrespect Bhojpuri on national television. Shocked! How on earth does speaking Bhojpuri gives you a latrine feeling. Shame on you." 

Reacting to the backlashes, Sidharth Malhotra responded by saying, “I recently tried speaking a new language while I was on a TV show. In the process, if I inadvertently hurt anyone’s feelings or sentiments, I apologize and assure you that no disrespect was meant in any way.”
