Bigo Live: A Place Where People Earn In Lakhs
While you and we keep doing our boring 9-5 jobs and earn salaries worth peanuts, there are some who are earning in lakhs every month. Of course, you might say they are working in better jobs, got placed in better companies during their college placement drive or got an amazing launch with their start-up projects, but no, we’re not talking about those high-earners we’re jealous of. These people that we’re gonna talk about today are no different than us; they are either in schools, skipping their home works or in colleges, bunking classes or just whiling away their time in cubicles at their offices. But now that we know how much they are earning (more than us) and through what means, we’re starting to feel jealous of them too…
Did you guys ever hear about Bigo Live? Good, neither did we. But if you make your drunk brains work a little hard, you’ll remember while playing a game on your phone, an ad of a stupid live-streaming app pops up where a girl dances to a Bollywood number while a lot of heart-shaped bubbles fly all over the screen. We generally wait for four seconds before we can skip and resume our important game, but what if we tell you that you can earn in lakhs through that app?
Shock laga? Yes, our not-so-innocent readers, people are earning thousands and lakhs through such apps while they continue with their mundane life. It all started with one forgotten app called ‘Musically’ developed by a Chinese company… when it hit the market, people went crazy in making videos where they lip-synced songs and dialogues from movies and albums. It was quite a hit but soon other Chinese apps followed. Bigo Live is one of those and people are actually earning from them.
Bigo is a place of everyday conversations and activities which help people turn into stars and earns lakhs through their devoted followers. Still not getting any idea? We’ll share with you the success story of Bigo star, Dimple. She is a fashion designer but rarely shows her fashion designing skills on Bigo. Rather, she talks about her day-to-day life in Hinglish and plays games with other Bigo hosts. In between her live performance, she asks her viewers to send her virtual objects that she can later convert into real money through a digital wallet.
By spending her time on Bigo, Dimple easily earns Rs 5 lakh a month. “I would never make so much at a 9 to 5 government job,” she told a source. “I definitely make more money from Bigo than from my other job.”
There are more like her, college students who earn around Rs 80-90 thousand by spending no more than 80 hours on the app. While such apps are almost unheard of among Indian urban cities, they have a huge fan-following in small towns.
Now, tell us if we shouldn’t be jealous!
