6 Bikes To Look Out For In 2019
2018 was a big year for the two-wheeler industry. We got to see some amazing releases that grabbed our attention so good that we couldn’t take our eyes off them. We saw Bajaj launch the Discover 110, TVS came out with Apache RTR 160 4V, Apache RTR 200 4V and Apache RR 310, while Honda launched their X-Blade and Hero, challenged TVS’s RTR 200 with their Xtreme 200R. The big boys to take the stage this year were, BMW G 310 Twins and the Royal Enfield 650 Twins, the most anticipated releases of the year. But the biggest thing to happen this year in the world of the two-wheeler industry is the return of the legend- JAWA.
Now, let’s take a look at some of the 2019 releases to come which promise to keep us on our toes. Here we go!
1. 2019 Bajaj Dominar
The ‘Haathi’ killer came out in late 2017 and turned into an instant success. And rumours are adrift that a highly updated model will soon arrive in 2019. There have been several reports of 2019 Baja Dominar being spotted and getting extensive cosmetic and mechanical upgrades. These include USD forks and a DOHC configuration for the engine instead of the current SOHC. The overall output of the powertrain will be raised from the current 34.5 bhp and 35 Nm of peak torque. Other changes may include new engine bash plate, exhaust mufflers and some new colours.
2. Hero XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T
We saw Hero MotoCorp unveiling the new XPulse version at the 2018 EICMA Motorcycle Show. XPulse 200 is an adventure-ready bike while the XPulse 200T is the tourer-friendly version. Both the bikes share mechanicals including the 200cc engine and frame, LED headlamp, single-channel ABS, digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and more.
3. KTM 390 Adventure

KTM 390 Adventure will prove to be a game-changer, given it comes out which we have no clue as of right now. The bike was missing from the EICMA 2018 show and no new spy shots could be captured recently. While it’s hard to predict when the bike will finally release (at least not in the coming months), KTM India had announced the 390 Adventure will hit the Indian market soon.
4. Benelli TRK 502
Benelli will be making a comeback in the Indian market 2019 under new management. And their most awaited motorcycle is the TRK 502. This middleweight beast will be powered by a 499.6 cc, four-stroke, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing nearly 47bhp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 45 Nm at 5,000 rpm. This engine will be mated with a six-speed gearbox.
5. Triumph Scrambler 1200
Not quite an adventure bike, but Triumph’s new Scrambler 1200 adds to the off-road capability like never seen before. The engine is borrowed from the Triumph Thruxton R but has been tuned to churn out more power and torque at lower RPMs. For the Indian market, Triumph will be releasing only one model- the XC variant.
6. BMW R 1250 GS
Everyone recognises the BMW GS badge! The 2019 version will see a significant update- new engine, new features and a whole bunch of electronics and technology. The new engine will produce 136 bhp at 7,750 rpm and peak torque of 143 Nm at 6,250 rpm. The 2019 BMW R 1250 GS will be priced at between Rs. 18-22 lakh (ex-showroom).
